Smaller Footprints, Bigger Impact (the future of car designs)

Peugot has been holding car design contest since 2000 and its fifth edition of the contest was held this year (2008). Here are the respective themes per edition.

1st edition (2000)– Design what a Peugeot would look like in 2020
2nd edition (2002) – Come up with a car Peugeot could use in the future but inspired by the styles and models of the brand’s legacy
3rd edition (2005) – Design the Peugeot you dream of for the near future
4th edition (2007) – P.L.E.A.S.E (P for Pleasurable (to drive)isir de conduite pur par sa, L for Lively, E for Efficient, A for Accessible, S for Simple, and E for Ecological) innovate
5th edition (2008) – Imagine the Peugot in the worldwide megalopolis of tomorrow.

This year the contest saw compact designs of cars that can be reconfigured. From the theme itself megalopolis of the future, which means cities packed with millions of people, heavy traffic, and smaller spaces. That is why most of the designs in the contest are small and compact cars. The winner on this years Peugot Car Design contest was Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar from Colombia.
