Featured Industrial Designer #2

The featured industrial designer for today is from the Philippines. He is Kenneth Cobonpue. I followed his site from a post by A Dialogue with K on edgy design. Kenneth studied Industrial Design at the Pratt Institute in New York in 1987. In 1996, he returned to Cebu Philippines to manage Interior Crafts of the Islands, a furniture design and manufacture company founded by his mother in 1972.

He has won numerous award including the Design for Asia Awrad in Hongkong, the highest award in Asia for his Lolah chair.

He’s such a genius. And apparently, I’m not the only one impressed. His works have appeared in Magazines like Architectural Digest, Newsweek, the International Herald Tribune, and even Vogue. – K

Here’s a preview on some of his works.
